A few things people often want to know before getting in touch. If your question isn’t here, just ask us.
Do I need a referral?
Not to make an appointment — you’re welcome to get in touch directly. To claim a Medicare rebate you’ll need a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral. DVA, NDIS, and Open Arms clients can contact us without a GP plan.
How much does it cost?
A standard 50-minute session is $256.15, with a $149.05 Medicare rebate leaving a $107.10 gap when you have a valid GP Mental Health Treatment Plan. Student and concession rates are available, NDIS sessions have no gap, and DVA and Open Arms are fully covered for eligible clients. The fees page has the full breakdown.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes — secure video (telehealth) sessions are available anywhere in Australia, with the same Medicare rebates as in-person appointments. Many people find their own space makes it easier to settle and speak openly.
What happens in the first session?
Mostly it’s about understanding what’s brought you in and what you’re hoping for. There’s no pressure to have it all worked out; we start where you are and shape the work together, at your pace.
Who do you work with?
Atanas sees adults across a wide range of concerns — anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress and burnout, relationships, and life transitions among them. If your needs would be better met elsewhere, he’ll help point you in the right direction.
